GANDHINAGAR: With the possibility of a
third wave of Covid-19 cases looming large, chief minster
Vijay Rupani held a video-conference with senior officials and municipal commissioners of the state’s five major cities to review the administration’s
preparedness.
Rupani said at the meeting that while daily Covid-19 case numbers have dropped substantially over the past few days, the administration should remain alert and prepared to face any eventuality.
Municipal commissioners of cities and top officials of various departments made a presentation on preparations in place for a possible third wave of
Covid cases. The CM said that the aim of the administration should be to take action to prevent the third wave.
The CM said a task force has been set up much in advance to ensure that the state is fully prepared. He said the task force has been in constant touch with doctors and experts and all the necessary infrastructure is being put into place.
Like other parts of the county, the second wave exposed the lack of preparedness of the state government in terms of availability of medical oxygen, beds and medical personnel.
