A 56-year-old doctor died after mysteriously falling from a window on the second floor of the house he was residing in at Sector 16 today. The police have ruled out any foul play. They said there was no grill on the window, which led to the mishap.

According to the police, the victim has been identified as Dr Gopal Krishan Bansal. He was residing on the second floor of the house.

The police said the victim reportedly lost balance and fell down. He was rushed to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16, where doctors declared him brought dead. The police said the victim was posted at a hospital in Patran, Punjab. Inquest proceedings have been initiated into the matter at the Sector 17 police station.
