Congress delegation hands over memorandum to Guv demanding universal free Covid vaccines

Ranchi, Jun 4 (UNI) A delegation of the Congress party on Friday met Jharkhand Governor

Draupadi Murmu here and handed over a memorandum addressed to President of India to

ensure one crore vaccination everyday and every citizen be provided universal free

vaccination.

Rural Development Minister Aalamgir Aalam met the Governor at the Raj Bhawan and

handed her the memorandum.

Through the memorandum the Congress party has accused the centre of having the

vaccination policy full of flaws. It said that after framing the plan for vaccination the BJP

government has forgotten its responsibilities.

Further the Centre has been accused of creating a digital divide due to which the process

of vaccination has slowed down. On the other hand different slab rates were prepared for the

vaccines so that the common people can be looted in the time of pandemic.

The party claimed that so far for a population of 140 crore the government has placed

orders for only 39 crore vaccines.

The party through the memorandum claimed that so far both the doses of the vaccine has

been given to only 4.45 crore people of the country which was mere 3.17 percent of the

population. It pointed that on an average 16 lakh vaccines are being given in a day and

going by the present situation it will take another three years to get the entire population

vaccinated.

The party has demanded the Centre to provide free of cost vaccines to the government

and private hospitals. Further there was a need to get the entire population which is above

18 years age vaccinated by the end of this year as it was the sole tool battle Coronavirus.

vaccination everyday and alongwith also make sure that universal free vaccination should
