School building built in city’s ward number 20 in Azad Nagar 11 years ago never opened for children

Guna (Madhya Pradesh): The school building built in city’s ward number 20 in Azad Nagar 11 years ago never opened for children. This building has been lying closed for the last 9 years, while the children living in this area go to study in Kushmoda village, which is 3 kilometres away.

The matter was raised several times by local people but the education department did not give approval for staff due some or the other reason.

In fact, education department officials do not even know when the school was built in this ward though local people say it was built 11 years back while two additional rooms were constructed little later.

A decade back, another school was started in Azad Nagar near Balwantpura. But the rules changed and the school stopped functioning. This school became the victim of this rule as the teachers were sent to another place and children started going to study in Kushmoda. The people aware about the development say that the school could have been saved if officials wanted but they did not pay attention.
