A 45 year old man was arrested for killing a 21 year-old adult in Tardeo, Mumbai. The other accused is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital and will be arrested later, according to officials.

The incident took place on Thursday evening between 3:45 pm to 4:15 pm in front of the A/4 building, Ambedkar Nagar in Tardeo's Tulsiwadi area.

The deceased identified as 21-year-old Dharmesh Dhiraj Bariya, a resident of Tulsiwadi locality in Tardeo, was drinking alcohol with the arrested accused Jayanti Heliya, 45, and Hitesh Heliya, 23, when Hitesh said something uncanny about Dharmesh’s father-in-law, according to police officials.

Dharmesh in anger started assaulting him, and Jayanti stabbed Dharmesh with a sharp weapon leading to his death, said a police officer from Tardeo.

“Dharmesh was shifted to a civic hospital, where he was declared dead," added the police officer.

A murder case has been registered under section 302 and section 34 (common intention) of the Indian penal code, by Bajrang Jagtap, a sub-inspector at Tardeo police station.

The murder was confirmed by Sanjay Jagtap, senior police inspector, Tardeo police station, "We arrested Jayanti in the murder case. His brother Hitesh who suffered injuries is admitted at the hospital and is undergoing treatment. We will arrest him once he is discharged from the hospital,” said Jagtap.
