Jun. 4—The Boulder County District Attorney's Office has announced it will be providing an update on the disappearance of Rita Gutierrez-Garcia, who went missing in Longmont more than three years ago.

In a release sent late Thursday night, the DA's Office indicated a news conference would occur at noon Friday outside the Boulder Justice Center, 1777 Sixth St.

The release indicated prosecutors and the Longmont Police Department would "provide an update on recent developments."

Gutierrez-Garcia has been missing since March 18, 2018. She was celebrating St. Patrick's Day with friends and family at bars in downtown Longmont and was last seen in a city parking lot located behind 3's Bar.

While no body has been recovered, police have said they presume Gutierrez-Garcia is dead.

No charges have been filed yet in the case. Police named a suspect, Juan Jose Figueroa Jr., 32, in the case but never charged him. Gutierrez-Garcia was last seen with Figueroa, according to police.

Figueroa was convicted in a separate sex assault case and was sentenced to 93 years to life in prison.

Online court records do not show any new charges filed against Figueroa.
