Stocks open higher after disappointing jobs data

Stocks opened slightly higher Friday, after a mildly disappointing May jobs report. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.32% rose 133.58 points, or 0.4%, to 34,710.62, while the S&P 500 SPX, +0.64% rose 20.41 points, or 0.5%, to 4,213.26 and the Nasdaq Composite COMP, +1.21% advanced 89.16 points, or 0.7%, to 13,703.67. The U.S. economy added 559,000 jobs in May, the government said, coming in below the consensus forecast for a rise of 671,000.
