UP Governor acting in partisan way: Cong

Lucknow, Jun 4 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Kumar Lallu here on Friday lashed out at Governor Anandben Patel claiming that it is an insult to the Constitution for refusing to meet his party delegation after giving time to receive a memorandum.
"It is a black day for the Constitution that a person sitting on a constitutional post gave time to receive a memorandum from Congress and later refused to meet them”, asserted Lallu while attacking Anandiben Patel here on Friday.
The party the delegation had gone to handover a memorandum highlighting government’s failure to handle the second wave of the corona, poor vaccination drive and that the chief minister is busy in preparation for next Assembly elections than doing anything to combat the third wave of Covid.
Addressing a press conference with other senior Party leaders including Party MLC, Deepak Singh, former minister Naseemudin Siddiqui, and others, Lallu attacked chief minister Yogi Adityanath claimed that the government is padding their back just after giving double doses of vaccination to 34 lakh people out of the 22 crores population in Uttar Pradesh.
"UP stands second from bottom, just ahead of Bihar in terms of vaccinating the people”, Lallu pointed while claiming that still Adityanath and his cabinet colleagues were busy making false propaganda as if they were among the top States in terms of vaccination.
The UPCC president said that to vaccinate 22 crore people, UP had just 1500 vaccination centers. Besides, the people were facing the internet and other documentation problem as the rural UP had just 22 per cent internet connectivity while even in the Urban area, only 80 per cent of the population had internet access.
He also highlighted various complaints in vaccination and questioned that the government should explain that why two different companies jabs were given to some people.
Congress Party Leader in the Legislative Council Deepak Singh blamed the complete failure of the Adityanath government resulting in the deaths of several thousand persons in the second wave of Covid-19. He said that not only in the health services, but the government also failed on all fronts in giving any relief to the poor by distributing their free food grains, financial assistance etc.
He alleged that when the people were dying in UP, Adityanath was first busy campaigning in West Bengal and even now, instead of making preparations for the third wave, the entire Bharatiya Janta Party is busy with how to win the coming Assembly election in 2022. Singh said that for BJP, polls are more important then the lives of people.
