'Black Day' on the call of Farmers' Organizations
26th May 2021
FARMERS’ JOINT ACTION COMMITTEE, MANIPUR OBSERVES ‘BLACK DAY’ ON THE CALL OF FARMERS’ ORGANIZATIONS!
DEMANDS IMMEDIATE REPEAL OF THE THREE AGRICULTURAL LAWS!!
Farmers’ Joint Action Committee, Manipur (FJAC) supports the struggle of farmers against the three agricultural laws. It also expressed its support for the historic farmers’ movement by observing ‘Black Day’ today on the call of farmers’ organizations.
It has been six months since the farmers have been protesting against the three black agricultural laws on the borders of Delhi. Instead of agreeing to their demands, the BJP government at the centre has been busy in going ahead with its nefarious agenda.
It should be noted that the farm laws were passed despite massive countrywide protests as the provisions of these laws would devastate not just the small-marginal farmers, but also severely affect the rural and urban labouring masses as the prices of agricultural produce would increase manifold.
The farmers’ organizations also appealed to the people of the state to observe ‘Black Day’ against the anti-people laws and policies of the central government. The people of the state responded enthusiastically to the appeal, and many protested against the laws by holding black flags and placards.
FJAC, the joint forum for farmers, resolves to continue the movement against these black agricultural laws till they are repealed.
