The “cancelboardexams” hashtag had been trending on Twitter for a fortnight and gave way to the “boardexamscancelled” chorus within minutes of the announcement. The government on Tuesday decided to cancel the CBSE Class 12 board exams amid the COVID-19 pandemic with Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserting that the decision has been taken in the interest of students and the anxiety among students, parents, and teachers must be put to an end.

As per the report by ANI, CBSE on Friday constituted a committee to decide well-defined objective criteria for the evaluation of Class 12 students. The committee will submit its report within 10 days.
Students of class 10 will be able to collect their question papers and answer sheets from June 21 to June 25. They will have to submit them between June 26-30. Class 12 students will be able to collect the required question papers and answer sheets from July 1-7 and can submit them from July 6-10. The exam schedule is applied to students appearing for both main and improvement exams.
The Chhattisgarh State Open School has released the datasheet for higher secondary (Class 10) and high school (Class 10) board exams. Students will be able to collect question papers and answer sheet from the designated exam centres. Students will have to submit the answer sheets within 5 days of receiving them. The exams will begin on June 21 and conclude on July 5.

The fresh dates of the SSLC exams and the timetable will be announced 20 days before the examination will be held, said Kumar adding that the students who are not able to appear for exams due to COVID-19 and in other states will be examined at a later date, Kumar said. For SSLC exams, over 8.75 lakh students will take exams in over 6000 centers across the state and the number of exam centers is doubled from last year to ensure social distancing. Only vaccinated teachers will be invigilators for the SSLC examination.
SSLC-10th exams will be held for two days. The first paper is Science, Maths, Social Science will be clubbed in one paper and the Second paper is Languages. SSLC examination is likely to be scheduled for the third week of July. No one will be marked as failed in this exam, Education Minister Suresh Kumar informed.
The Karnataka government has decided on Friday to cancel the II PUC exam, however, the government will go ahead with class 10-SSLC exams with only multiple-choice type questions (MCQs). This makes Karnataka the only state to go forward with the decision to hold state board examinations for Class 10 (SSLC).
For the promotion of UP Board Class 10 students, an average of marks scored in Class 9 and Class 10 pre-board exams will be calculated. The result will be mentioned as the final score in the marksheet. If the student has not appeared for the pre-board or Class 9 exam, then we will give a general promotion for now. Next year, the student will have an option to appear for the exams to improve their marks
In a tweet in Hindi, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Thursday, “In the present circumstances amid the Covid pandemic, the safety of children’s health is our priority. Taking inspiration from the Prime Minister, the UP government has decided not to hold Class 10 and 12 board examinations.”
Following CBSE’s decision to scrap its Class 12 exams this year amid the second wave of the Covid pandemic, the Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday cancelled the Class 12 (intermediate) examination of its state board. The state board examinations for Classes 10 and 12 in Maharashtra have been cancelled this year in view of the prevailing coronavirus pandemic, minister Vijay Wadettiwar announced on Thursday. Relief and rehabilitation minister Wadettiwar said, "The state board exams of Classes 12 and 10 are cancelled. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had already indicated about it in his earlier address to the state. A (formal) decision was taken today."

"We welcome the decision. We will wait till the CBSE announces the modalities for marking the students.
