Former Army man murdered in Delhi

  • A 65-year-old former Army man was murdered in his home in Delhi's Shyam Vihar area, the Delhi Police informed on Thursday.
  • The incident took place on Wednesday. The man has been identified as Uduaveer. His wife was in the house at the time of the crime, the Police said.
  • "There are three suspects in the case. Efforts are being made to catch them," the Police said.

Nine hurt during TV shoot as security guard opens fire in Karachi

  • An enraged security guard allegedly opened fire and injured at least nine people during a shooting of a television drama in Karachi's posh Defence Housing Society.
  • The security guard, identified as Gul Chai, has been arrested. He opened indiscriminate firing after a heated argument with the producer of the drama, police said, adding that luckily, the injured suffered minor injuries.

Iranian naval ship 'Khark' sinks after catching fire in Gulf of Oman

  • "Despite 20 hours of all-out efforts by Civil and Naval Military Rescue Teams, the rescue operation of the Khark training support vessel was ineffective due to the spread of fire in different parts," a report said.
  • The ship sank off the coast of the southern Iranian port of Jask. All crew members were evacuated and there were no casualties.
  • The cause of the blaze remains unclear. The military vessel was being deployed to international waters for a training naval operation when one of its systems caught fire near Jask, Fars reported.

Man posing as Railway board member held in Hyderabad, vehicle, fake IDs seized

  • The Special Operations Team (SOT) of Telangana Police has arrested a 44-year-old man, who allegedly impersonated himself as a member of the South Central Railway Board and Central Film Censor Board by illegally fixing the designation boards to his vehicle. The arrest was made on Tuesday.
  • According to the police, the accused has been identified as Kota Venkatesh and a Bolero car, fake identity cards and voter ID cards were seized from him.

Trump's communication platform shuts down in less than a month after launch

  • Former US President Donald Trump communication platform, a blog called "From the Desk of Donald J. Trump" was shut down in less than one month after its launch.
  • Jason Miller, a senior aide to Trump confirmed to CNN that the page had been scrubbed and said the page "will not be returning...It was just auxiliary to the broader efforts we have and are working on".
  • Those who attempt to visit the page are now greeted with a web form asking for their contact information to receive updates through email or text message, reported CNN.

  • Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal on Wednesday announced that the state government will conduct the internal assessment for Class 12 of the Haryana School Education Board.
  • "The state government will follow the directions of the Central government in regarding the Class XII examination of Haryana School Education Board, Bhiwani and will conduct an internal assessment based on which the results will be declared soon," Pal said.
