Late Wajid Khan's wife moves Bombay High Court seeking permanent injunction against Sajid Khan and his mother in property case

Late music composer-singer Wajid Khan's wife, Kamalrukh Khan who claims to be struggling to get what's rightfully hers and her children's in husband’s property since his passing, has now moved the Bombay High Court seeking a permanent injunction against Sajid Khan and his mother from claiming third party rights in the property. As per the latest reports, the court passed an order asking Wajid's brother Sajid Khan and their mother to provide details of the properties. Of the total property worth Rs 16 crore, Wajid Khan is said to have owned paintings of famous painters like MF Hussain, VS Gaitonde, that are valued at Rs 8 crore on the list submitted by Kamalrukh Khan to the court. As per Etimes, Kamalrukh's lawyer said, 'These were valuable assets for the family which certainly held both emotional and economical importance. Today she is a widow and can only depend on these assets to make ends meet. Also, Late Mr. Wajid Khan wanted to send her daughter to the USA for further studies but due to his untimely death and then family not cooperating with her, these assets are all that will help her.' Furthermore, her lawyer reportedly continued, 'Irrespective of all disputes, how can you ever divorce your children? Children's rights remain unaffected as they have an inherent right to their father's property.' Kamalrukh also said that she is getting 'harassed' by Wajid's family. As per her, Wajid had made his will in 2012, and in the same, he named her and their children as the only beneficiaries of all his assets and properties. She continues to maintain that after she married Wajid in 2003 under the Special Marriage Act, his family never really accepted her and her children as a part of his family. Wajid of the music composers Sajid and Wajid duo, who had tested positive for COVID-19, died on June 1 last year at the age of 47 after suffering a cardiac arrest. Recently on his first death anniversary, his brother Sajid and wife Kamalrukh remembered him on social media.
