Alok Kumar named Chief Secretary for Tripura

A senior bureaucrat of 1990 IAS batch, Alok Kumar, is from Tripura cadre, is presently posted as additional secretary in the cabinet secretariat of the central government

In a major bureaucratic move announced by the Tripura Government, 1990 batch IAS officer of Tripura cadre, Alok Kumar is named the new Chief Secretary of the state replacing the incumbent Manoj Kumar. However, Manoj Kumar is presently transferred as Special Chief Resident Commissioner of Tripura in New Delhi.

As per the official order issued by the state government,  Alok Kumar would be responsible for the General Administration (Confidential and Cabinet, Personnel and Training) and Home Department after assuming the state chief secretary charge.A 1990 batch IAS officer from a Tripura cadre Alok Kumar (also known as Kumar Alok), is currently posted as additional secretary in the cabinet secretariat of the central government. The state government has asked the officer to assume charge within one week.

Earlier the Union government on the request of the Tripura government on May 31 transferred Alok Kumar back to his parent cadre in Tripura. According to the Tripura government, senior IAS officer Alok Kumar before joining the central deputation in March 2020 was posted as additional chief secretary in the Tripura government.
