Rajasthan BSF has recovered 54 packets of suspected Heroin weighing around 56 kg near the international border in Bikaner at Bandli check post In the intervening night of 2/3 June. It was a cross border smuggling attempt. BSF sentry fired but smugglers managed to escape. “It is the biggest ever seizure of narcotics by BSF in Rajasthan Frontier,” a release from the BSF said.

According to BSF, jawans patrolling on the international border sensed some suspicious movement near the fencing during the night. Jawans outdare the smugglers and open fire but they manage to escape taking advantage of dark and bad weather. BSF recovered 54 packets of narcotics substance which prima facie appears to be Heroin. This substance was being smuggled in PVC pipes which were tied to each other. Some footmarks were also found on the spot. The release said that An FIR in this regard will be lodged in the concerned department from BSF.

BSF had failed a similar kind of attempt near the international border at Sriganganagar in February this year.
