NOIDA: Close on the heels of the cancellation of the CBSE Class 12 examinations,
universities in Gautam Buddh Nagar have accelerated the admission process for the first-year undergraduate courses. The universities have confirmed that the new
academic session (2021-2022) will start on time, in August.
Sharda University on Wednesday decided to admit students on the basis of their pre-board examination results. “We will admit students on the basis of pre-board examination results without much delay. We want to begin our academic sessions on time,” Rajiv Gupta, director of Sharda University, told TOI.
However, students who are eligible for scholarships will have to wait until they get the final results in hand. “Our scholarship seats will be reserved till the CBSE results are released because we do not want to revoke scholarships after granting them,” Gupta added.
Amity University claimed it has already completed 25% admissions virtually and will now be filling the rest of the seats once the CBSE releases the final results. “Students have been admitted provisionally. Admissions will be confirmed once the results arrive. Admissions are being done virtually,” said chancellor Atul Chauhan.
“At Bennett University, we are considering provisional admissions based on the classes 10 and 11 results of the students. We will confirm the admissions on the basis of the marks received in the CBSE results. The scholarships are being offered on the basis of Class 10 marks,” said registrar Guljit Singh Chadda.
At Gautam Buddha University (GBU), admissions are in progress online. “We are conducting the registrations now. We will start the new sessions on time,” said Bhagwati Prakash Sharma, vice-chancellor of GBU. Noida and Greater Noida together have seven universities.
