Avengers Campus Opening Date, Location and Rides
Avengers fans assemble: Avengers Campus is opening at Disney California Adventure Park tomorrow, June 4, 2021.
The latest addition to the theme park in Anaheim, California, features Avengers-inspired rides and experiences that allow guests to encounter their favorite heroes and see them spring into action.
Disney California Adventure Park's new Avengers Campus can be found between Cars Land and Hollywood Land. Its new rides, experiences, restaurants and retail spaces have been built around another Marvel ride, The Guardians of the Galaxy—Mission: BREAKOUT, which opened in 2017.
Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park have begun a phased reopening, but until June 15 they are only open to California residents in groups of no more than three households.
Avengers fans from outside of California may have to wait a little while to get to experience the new Marvel land, but until then, find out below what you can look forward to.
Avengers Campus Rides
The new Avengers-inspired area features two rides, including a brand new Spider-Man one.
Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure sees guests jump aboard a Web Slinger vehicle and weave a web to wrangle Spider-Bots and save the Campus from havoc. Disneyland says this ride is "perfect for up-and-coming recruits" as it has no height restrictions.
To experience the Spider-Man ride, guests need to join a virtual queue on the Disneyland mobile app. The times for the virtual queue enrollment will be distributed at 7 a.m. and 12 p.m. local time every day, subject to availability, and guests can join the virtual queue once a day.
The second ride at the Avengers Campus is The Guardians of the Galaxy—Mission: BREAKOUT in which Avengers fans have to save Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket, Drax and Groot from Taneleer Tivan, a.k.a. the Collector, who has them displayed in electrified glass cases. The big thrill ride features free-fall drop sequences and is open to riders who are at least 102cm tall.
Avengers Campus Experiences
The Avengers Campus features the ruins of the Ancient Sanctum, where guests will encounter the Master of the Mystic Arts, Doctor Strange, who will demonstrate his mystical abilities.
There's also the Avengers Headquarters, where fans will encounter "some of Earth's Mightiest Heroes," such as Iron Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Thor, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, the Wasp and the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Avengers Campus Food and Retail
The Avengers Campus will also have various themed food options, like the Pym Test Kitchen, with "size-defying fare from Ant-Man and The Wasp's team of food research chefs," and the Pym Tasting Lab, featuring "new recipes and brewing systems."
There will also be Shawarma Palace, featuring the "Avengers favorite shawarma-inspired wraps," and Terran Treats, offering guests "churro spirals and cosmic orbs."
The retail outlets offer the latest super hero gear from the Worldwide Engineering Brigade and Campus Supply Pod. The Collector's Warehouse offers a trove of toys, apparel, comics and cosmic keepsakes.
