Why do my forearms burn when I perform JM Presses?
I tried to follow the advice from JM Blakely’s video on JM Presses and he says to “punch up” and point your fists up at the top of each rep. I also performed the exercise without wrist wraps because I found it is difficult for me to maintain proper hand position at the top using the wraps. I felt a nice pump in my triceps after each set but for some reason my forearms specifically the wrist extensors were burning as well after every set. Does anybody else experience a pump/burn in the forearms while JM Pressing?
This is a really difficult exercise to maintain proper form, Jason Blaha (if you know who he is) has attempted JM presses during every upper body workout he does for the past few years and he still struggles with proper form. I feel JM Blakely is the only one that can do the exercise properly, which sucks because it is an excellent triceps mass/strength builder and there is excellent carryover to bench press strength
