TT drivers, helpers given frontline warrior status

Imphal, June 02 2021: The State Government has recognised drivers and helpers of POL and LPG TT drivers as COVID-19 frontline warriors.

Representatives of All Manipur Petroleum Products Transporters' Association, All Manipur Bulk LPG Transport Association and All Manipur Petroleum Product Drivers' Association held a meeting with officials of Home Department, CAF&PD Department and Transport Department and deliberated on a representation submitted earlier by the transporters' organisations to the State Government.

The meeting agreed to declare drivers and helpers of POL and LPG TTs as frontline warriors.

Subsequently, the Special Secretary (Home) issued an order today whereby drivers and helpers of POL and LPG TTs were declared as COVID-19 frontline warriors.

As a result, drivers and helpers of POL and LPG TTs have revoked their decision to suspend all their activities till Friday and have resumed their duties from today.

Drivers and helpers have been at the forefront in bringing the much needed fuel and cooking gas and other necessities to land locked Manipur.
