Satna, MP, June 3 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President and erstwhile chief minister Kamal Nath was hit by friendly fire on Thursday when his statement regarding the Vindhya region elicited a sharp reaction from party stalwart Ajay Singh.
“Blaming the region for the decline and fall of the predecessor Congress dispensation amounts to an insult of the Vindhyas! In the 2013 Assembly polls, the area elected a dozen legislators – a figure higher than any other division within the state. In 2018, who camped in Bandhavgarh prior to the counting? A conspiracy was hatched against the populace,” Mr Singh – an ex-Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly and son of former Union minister Arjun Singh who earned the sobriquet ‘Chanakya’ – told members of the Fourth Estate at this District headquarters.
Mr Nath recently averred in Maihar that the Congress emerged victorious in “only 20” out of 31 Vidhan Sabha constituencies in the Vindhyas.
