The owner of Priya Gold Biscuits Ballabh Prasad Agarwal passed away in Kolkata on Wednesday following a massive cardiac arrest.
He was 72.
According to the reports, he died of cardiac arrest as his blood pressure level dropped significantly after he got off the flight in Kolkata.
Agarwal started the biscuit business in 1994 with small capital under the umbrella brand Priyagold.
He struggled hard at the initial phase but after the launch of the company, he never looked back and raised an empire of three thousand crores.
Hails from Rajasthan, he was born in 1949. After completing his schooling, Agarwal started assisting his father in the grocery business.
After Marriage in 1967, he started making biscuits under the name Priya.
He always wanted to expand the reach of his business by setting up a biscuit factory. In 1991, Agarwal left Kolkata and moved to Noida. In 1994, he started a biscuit factory by taking a loan of Rs 25 lakh from the bank.
This company initially started making biscuits of coconut and glucose. Agarwal started selling his products in the market and door-to-door at very low prices with good packaging. At present, his biscuit company alone has a turnover of 100 crores.
