Mani Ratnam's wife Suhasini calls out imposter for creating a fake account in the filmmaker's name

Ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam, best known for his films like Guru, Bombay, Dil Se and Roja, celebrated his birthday on Wednesday and several celebrities took to social media to share sweet birthday wishes for the director.

Meanwhile, an imposter created a fake account in the name of the filmmaker and gained over fourteen thousand followers in just a few hours.

The imposter had tweeted: "On my birthday I am happy to enter Twitter Thank you for all your lovely wishes."

The filmmaker's wife, actress Suhasini Maniratnam took to Twitter to call out the user who created the fake account and wrote, "@Dir_ManiRatnam is false. Pls spread the word around."

"There is a person claiming to be @ Dir_ ManiRatnam has tweeted that director ManiRatnam is starting his Twitter account today. It is false. He’s an impersonator," she added in another tweet.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, actress Aditi Rao Hydari, Mahesh Babu and others wished the director.

Aditi wished Mani Ratnam with an Instagram post. Sharing a picture with the director, she wrote: "Happy happiest birthday my favouritestestestest #ManiSir. To many many endless years of making movies, your infectious energy, good health,happiness and golf!"

"Thank you for being the best teacher, parent, mentor, captain. Thank you for the magic of cinema, for making me (us) enjoy every bit of the journey of making a film. Thank you always for making me believe that dreams come true Thank you for being young You’re the best forever," she added.

Superstar Mahesh Babu tweeted, "Wishing the cinematic genius #ManiRatnam sir, a very happy birthday. Good health and happiness always!"

"Wishing the grand master of the entertainment industry a very happy birthday ,may the blessings of the almighty be showered in abundance on this special day," read actor R Sarath Kumar's tweet.
