MVA to blame for quashing of law granting quota to Marathas: Rane

Thane, May 31 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and former chief minister Narayan Rane on Monday squarely blamed the ruling MVA government for its failure to present the case relating to the reservation for Marathas in the Supreme Court, which quashed a law granting quota to the community recently.
Addressing a news conference here, he said that the MVA government has had made grave mistakes while fighting the case in the apex court which resulted in the weakening of the case.
He said that the fight for Maratha reservation has been going on for last thirty years and now due to the gross failure and negligence by the MVA, it had failed in the Supreme Court, he pointed.
Till the case is decided and the issue is resolved, the government should give reservation in education and jobs to the Marathas as was given by the previous BJP state government. he said and demanded that the government should now make sincere efforts to give reservation to the Marathas, he said.
Also, the government should give Rs 3,000 crore package to the community, Mr Rane demanded.
