Giving cocktail medicine to corona patients will not change the virus. Whereas extra doses of plasma, remdesivir, tocilizumab, and all other drugs are more likely to change the virus. Cocktail medicine is being given in some private hospitals of Delhi in collaboration with Roshe and Cipla Company, which has a dosage of up to 60 thousand rupees.
Regarding this, Dr. Raman R Gangakhedkar, former head of epidemiology and infectious diseases of the Indian Institute of Medical Research (ICMR), says that the monoclonal antibody cocktail is not expected to change the coronavirus. Although how effective the monoclonal antibody is against the drug Kovid and its variants will be known in the coming days, but it cannot be expected at the moment.
Earlier, Dr. Raman R. Gangakhedkar had said about the unaccounted use of other drugs including plasma therapy, that this wrong practice can lead to more changes in the virus, which can have fatal effects. He had also demanded from the government for the proper use of other medicines including plasma therapy, after which plasma therapy was withdrawn from the Kovid protocol.
Dr. Gangakhedkar told that the monoclonal antibody drug is a mixture of two drugs. Former Director-General of ICMR, Dr. Nirmal K. Ganguly says that the cocktail drug has got permission for emergency use. This means that this medicine cannot be given without the permission of the patient or his family. So we have to take care that this medicine is not misused. It should be given only to patients with severe or life-threatening risks.
The coronavirus which has been wreaking havoc across the world for a year remains a mystery even today. For the last few days, discussions about the origin of the virus have intensified again. Teams of scientists in different countries are demanding a transparent investigation on this. At the same time, the World Health Organization (WHO) has also given information to proceed with the investigation, but Dr. Raman R. Gangakhedkar, former head of infectious diseases of ICMR, clearly says that we do not have evidence. We do not know whether this virus is genetic or artificially created.
"Every year there are such incidents in labs on the basis of which there is an increase in the possibility of the virus coming out of the lab," he said. Hence this fact cannot be ignored. He categorically said that the origin of coronavirus remains a mystery for the whole world right now. Before anything conclusive, we have to wait for evidence. BSL-4 laboratories also have about a hundred accidents annually. Recently, the World Health Organization has also indicated that the investigation regarding the origin of corona can be resumed soon.
