After COVID-19 related delays in the launch of the new Skoda Octavia, the car will finally launch later this month. Before the official price announcement of the sedan, Skoda has started to dispatch the units of the upcoming Octavia to its dealerships. Here is a video that shows Octavia from all around.

The video made by AutoHunters India shows the Skoda Octavia from all around. It shows the vehicle from the outside and the inside as well. While Skoda is yet to fully reveal the car and tell us about the changes, this video covers most of the details.

The fourth-generation Skoda Octavia is built on an updated MQB platform. With the new platform, the size of the car has grown too. It is now bigger than the previous model that was on sale in the market. The design of the car is the first thing that will catch your attention. The new Octavia gets a new front-end with a new grille. The design is typically a modern-day Skoda design that we also get to see on the Kushaq.

The trademark grille at the front looks quite interesting. Since it is a Completely Built Unit (CBU) import, Skoda will only offer the top-spec Laurin & Klement variant in India. It will come fully loaded with features. Skoda will also add new colour options. The one that we see in this video is the new Lava Blue shade, which was not available before. Other shades will be available as well but we are not sure about the details at present.

New Octavia will also get a set of sleek LED headlamps with J-shaped DRLs. The 17-inch alloy wheels look extremely sporty and add a classy touch to the sedan.

Petrol only

Since the Volkswagen Group has decided to move away from diesel engines, Skoda has also started offering only petrol options in India. The all-new Skoda Octavia will also only offer a petrol engine. It will get a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates a maximum power of around 190 PS. There will be no manual transmission available with this car.

It will get a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission as standard. The old conventional transmission lever is now replaced with a toggle switch. It replaces the conventional linkage to the gearbox and replaces it with an electronic set-up.

The Octavia is luxurious and the new one offers even more premium features. There is a free-standing infotainment system in the middle of the dashboard. The dashboard itself is beige in a colour that adds to the classy feel of the cabin. The two-spoke steering wheel is also new and is wrapped in leather. There are gloss black inserts all over that again adds a touch of sportiness.
