Mumbai's Dabbawalas look for a lifeline as Covid and lockdown hit their livelihood

Mumbai's Dabbawalas have been majorly hit by COVID-19. With the second wave and lockdown, it became increasingly difficult for them to make ends meet. Even though many from the community took to other professions most of them are still unable to earn enough, and want government support. Fearing the ongoing situation, many dabbawalas are scared of losing not just their jobs, but also a profession they love. But, there's still hope left with some believing that even though it's tough, but it is not impossible to keep the show running. Surely enough, Mumbai’s dabbawalas now have a saviour to help them. Restaurateur Riyaaz Amlani has joined hands with these dabbawalas who will function as delivery partners.
