Nagda (Ujjain district, Madhya Pradesh): Sub Divisional Officer Ashutosh Goswami, social activist Pankaj Maru and municipality officers reviewed the progress of construction of oxygen plant at Bima hospital here on Tuesday.

The oxygen plant is being built by the municipality. The equipment needed for 10-bed ICU ward have reached the hospital. An ICU ward is also being set up for children.

An amount of Rs 60 lakh has been provided by the Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thawarchand Gehlot from CSR fund of ALIMCO, an industry under his ministry, for setting up an oxygen plant in Bima Hospital. With the amount, BiPap machine, oxygen concentrators and other equipment have been purchased.

Similarly, an amount of Rs 40 lakh has been provided by MLA Dilip Singh Gurjar for the construction of an ICU ward in Bima Hospital. With the amount, digital X-ray machines and other equipment will be installed.

When contacted, SDM Ashutosh Goswami said basic requirements for oxygen plant are ready. “The ECG, EEG machine will arrive by Thursday. ICU ward toilets are also ready,” he added.
