Indore: Indore Municipal Corporation on Tuesday started “Drive-in Dhanwantari Vaccination Centres” in three assembly constituencies and Covid-19 testing facilities in all 85 wards in the city on Tuesday.
One vaccination centre has been setup at Dalalbagh on VIP Road in Indore-1 assembly constituency, second at Kanakeshwari Devi Ground near Madan Mahal Garden in Indore-2 assembly constituency and third one at Nehru Stadium in Indore-5 assembly constituency.
Water resource minister and district incharge Tulsiram Silawat was present at the inauguration of drive-in centres at Dalalbagh and Nehru Stadium whereas Kanakeshwari Devi Ground centre was inaugurated by MP Shankar Lalwani.
Silawat hailed the move of IMC for setting up vaccination centres. He stated that people should come out in large numbers and get themselves vaccinated so that they can be safe from coronavirus and can ensure safety of their family members as well.
He stated that people would get vaccine shot while they are in/on their vehicles so the chances of getting infection from people coming to centre will be almost zero.
Municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal stated that the IMC has planned one centre at each six assembly constituencies in the city. “Centres in remaining three constituencies will be setup shortly,” she added.
The first and second doses of Covishield vaccine are administered to people above the age of 45 at these centres.
Registration will be done on spot when people will drive into the centres premises. People will be inoculated while they are in/on their vehicles.
Meanwhile, Pal said that one Covid-19 testing centre has been also started in each of 85 wards in the municipal limits from Tuesday. At these centres, the Covid-19 test facility is available at cheaper rates. RTPCR test is done for Rs 600, Covid-19 profile test for Rs 1300, CBC CRP blood test for Rs 300 as well as all other blood type tests at cheaper rates.
Pal said that these Covid-19 test centers will be setup in collaboration with the Central Lab, Sodani Diagnostic Clinic and Newburgh Supratech Reference Laboratory and Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Science .

Indore model to be implemented in state
Urban administration and housing minister Bhupendra Singh hailed the Indore model of drive-in vaccination centres and Covid-19 testing facilities at ward level at cheaper rates.
He stated that all the municipal corporations will be directed to adopt the Indore model of drive-in vaccination centre and Covid-19 testing facility at ward level. He stated that such positive moves will go long way to check spread of coronavirus infection.
