Bhopal: A 21-year-old girl was killed in a running train on Tuesday night. The victim was travelling from Indore to Bhopal in Narmada Express.

The incident took place under Mandi Police station between Sujalpur railway station and Sehore railway station. Sources said that a youth was travelling along with the woman from Indore. He went missing soon after the incident.

On getting information, a team of Sehore including superintendent of police (SP), Sehore, reached the spot and sent the body for autopsy.

The deceased has been identified as Muskan Hada. The police said that the girl's brother lives in Bhopal and she was coming to Bhopal to meet him. She had boarded the train- Indore Bilaspur Narmada Express- at Indore railway station.

She was travelling in general coach- D3. The on-board passengers told police that the youth who was travelling with the woman had a heated argument just before Sehore railway station. Soon, the youth attacked her with a sharp edged weapon and slit her throat.

The on board passengers informed the Railway Protection Force (RPF) deployed in the train, who informed the police.

Following information, the train was spotted at Sehore railway station and passengers were interrogated.

Superintendent of police (SP), Sehore SS Chouhan said that girl’s brother had called at dial 100 and informed that someone was teasing his sister, who was travelling to Bilaspur bound Narmada Express.

“We have registered a case and started an investigation. Before police responded to the call of the deceased’s brother, the incident took place," Chouhan told the journalists.
