Nifty FMCG index was trading flat amid volatile trade on Tuesday. The index after bullish start fell into negative zone before making slow gains to remain steady.
Emami led the sectorial gains while heavyweight
Hindustan Unilever was also bullish.
Jubilant Foodworks emerged the biggest laggard in the sector.

Emami was on top of the list of the gainers in the FMCG sector, trading at Rs511.50 per piece, up 2.08%. HUL advanced 0.6% at Rs2,354.20 per piece.
Marico also gained 0.56%, while Nestle India was 0.28% higher. Britannia, and Tata Consumer were trading just above the flat line while United Spirits was just below it.
Jubilant Foodworks shed 1.8% at Rs3,055.50 per piece to underperform. Dabur, Varun Beverages, Godrej Consumer and Procter & Gamble Hygiene dropped between 0.6% to 0.5%.
Colgate Plamolive and United Breweries were trading 0.31% each lower.
ITC was also under pressure ahead of announcing its quarterly earnings on Tuesday.
