Tata Motors on Tuesday registered total domestic sales of 24,552 units in May 2021, down 38% MoM as against 39,530 vehicles in April this year. The company sold only 4,418 units in May 2020, when sales were largely impacted by the nationwide lockdown.
Passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market in May 2021 stood at 15,181 units as against 3,152 units in the same month last year, up 382% and down 40% on an MoM basis.
The company said in the regulatory filing that it has reported a 32% decline in total commercial vehicle sales at 11,401 units as against 1,488 units in the year-ago period.
Commercial vehicle sales in the domestic market stood at 9,371 units, down 35% from 14,435 units in March, the company said.
Tata Motors Ltd ended at Rs318.10 down by Rs0.6 or 0.19% from its previous closing of Rs318.70 on the BSE.
