Amritsar: Two unknown bike-borne persons robbed two women who were returning home after paying obeisance at a shrine in the Ramdass area. Though the police registered a case, there was no breakthrough in the robbery so far. Daljit Kaur, a resident of Awan village in Ajnala, stated to the police that on Sunday she along with her sister Gagandeep Kaur of Gurala village had gone to pay obeisance at Gurdwara Baba Budda Sahib. They were returning home when two bike-borne armed persons stopped them. She alleged that the accused snatched two mobiles, gold earrings, one ring and a purse containing Rs 4,000, besides two ATM cards from them. The police registered a case under Section 379-B of the IPC while further investigations were under progress to identify the suspects, said ASI Tukwinder Singh, investigating officer in the case. 5 UPS stolen from court complex

Amritsar: Five UPS systems were stolen from various offices of the district court complex last night. Complaint Rajinder Kumar in his statement said an unidentified person decamped with five UPS systems from different offices of the district court complex. The police have registered a case against an unidentified person under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC. ASI Lakhwinder Kumar, in charge, court complex police post, said the police were investigating the matter and the thief would be nabbed soon. TNS
