Nifty Media index trades higher despite volatile markets; Inox Leisure, TV Today lead the sectoral gains

Nifty Media stocks were trading the green amid volatile markets trend on Tuesday. Dish TV and Inox Leisure contributes to lift the sector as to lead the gains. The investors reacted to the GDP growth rate at 1.6% and annual GDP contraction at 7.3% which are better than expectations. Also, Q4 numbers show robust growth in in all the sectors.

At around 11:15 AM, Nifty media was trading at 1768.40 up 6.95 points or 0.39%. The index has touched an intraday high of 1794.50 and an intraday low of 1765.95 during early trading hours on Tuesday.

The majority of the stocks listed was trading in the green with 6 scrips advancing and 4 scrips declining. 

On the index, Dish TV led the charge by surging 5.78% at Rs15.55 per piece. Inox Leisure advanced 1.64% at Rs315.75 per piece and  TV Today  was 1.43% upside at Rs297.70 per piece. 

PVR was also trading in green at Rs1317.65 per piece, up 0.58% while TV Today and Network 18 also gained 1% each. 

However, on the downside, Jagran sink 2.80% being the top loser tumbling at Rs55.55 per piece while DB Corp was also trading 1.30% lower. On Monday, Jagran Prakashan announced its Q4 profit rises nearly 7-folds to Rs39.90cr.

Heavyweights Sun TV and ZEEL also dragged the sector, dips over 1% each on the index.
