Hyderabad: Aims to help patients who are suffering COVID-19, the non-governmental organizations based in Hyderabad have set up free oxygen facilities in three state hospitals for COVID-19 patients waiting to be admitted.
COVID-19 patients approaching the hospital for treatment usually have to wait two hours until they have completed the admission procedures.
According to media reports, in the second wave of COVID-19, many patients were discharged from the hospital due to a shortage of beds and those admitted to hospitals died due to a delay in oxygen. This leads to hundreds of deaths in Hyderabad in April.
These NGOs, the Social Data Initiative Forum (SDIF), Access Foundation and Safa Baitul Maal (SBM), jointly came up with this initiative on 9 May and provided free oxygen cylinders at the entrance of Gandhi Hospital, Chest Hospital and King Koti placed. Hospital to help patients breathe easily from the moment they get into the ambulance until they are admitted to the hospital.

About 50 volunteers from these organizations work 24 hours a day in four shifts.
Talk to siasat.comSDED adviser Syed Amjad said: ‘We have many fatal cases before they are taken up due to lack of oxygen supply. The strategy of supplying oxygen before the uptake while waiting saves many lives. We are very happy that we can save lives. We consider it our responsibility. ”
Over the past month, more than 150 patients have benefited from it every day. “Superintendent of these three hospitals is also working together on this initiative and has enabled us to erect the oxygen beds in front of the hospital premises,” adds Amjad.

Moulana Giyas Ahmed Rashadi, vice president of Safa Bait-ul Maal, said their volunteers not only help patients in hospitals but also serve them in their residences. ‘We recently acquired 100 oxygen concentrators to meet the needs of patients in need of oxygen. “The seven volunteers committed themselves to providing plasma donors to the Cyberabad Police Commissioner,” he said.
