Heres another proof of iPhone 12 series popularity
Apple’s 2020 iPhone series is turning out to be quite popular, despite coming late to the party. A recent report by Counterpoint Research had claimed that iPhone 12 series had captured one-third of smartphone industry revenues during the first quarter of 2021 and the top three sold handsets were iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Pro.

Now, another report by Counterpoint has claimed some data that further corroborates the popularity of the iPhone 12 series.

As per the latest report, the iPhone 12 series models have been found to be doing better in terms of sales than how the iPhone 11 models had turned out in the same quarter period last year.

“The iPhone 11 series’ share in the total iPhone installed base was at 15% in Q1 2020 compared to the iPhone 12 series’ 16% in Q1 2021.” This growth is slightly more noteworthy as there was a gap of one month in the launches of the iPhone 11 series — which was launched in September — whereas the iPhone 12 series iPhones were launched in October giving them less time.

Further breaking down the performance in terms of the Pro and non-Pro models, the Counterpoint research has claimed that there has been an improvement in the share of Pro models in new iPhones.

"The iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max’s installed base accounted for 44% in Q1 2020 compared to the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max’s 54% in Q1 2021,” said the report.

If you were to go by the data of the last couple of years, it won’t be hard to see an iPhone turning out to be the most sold smartphone in the world in 2021, but it remains to be seen which one it turns out to be.

Out of the four iPhones that Apple launched in 2020, the iPhone 12 model is the one that is most in-demand in the first three months of 2021. A recent report by Counterpoint Research had shown that the iPhone 12 is at the top spot when it comes to the highest selling smartphones in the world.
