Gurgaon: The district on Monday recorded 112 new Covid-19 cases, less than 150 single-day
cases for the fourth consecutive day. With this, Gurgaon’s total tally is 1,79,946 now. Also, the positivity rate stands at 2%. The district has 1,525 active patients.

councillor RS Rathee died due to Covid on Sunday night. Rathee (55) was vocal on citizens’ issues in the MCG House meetings and had a better understanding of the corporation’s finances and budget. Rathee had lost his mother on May 12 this year and his father the next day.
The district’s fatality rate stands at 0.4%. Gurgaon also recorded recovery of 305 people. The recovery rate is 98% at present.
As the cases are declining, new admissions to hospitals have also gone down. At present, there are 227 cases (severe) in hospitals and four (mild cases) in district Covid care centres. As many as 1,294 people are in home isolation. “The infection rate has come down in the last one week, but the number of tests conducted in private labs has also gone down. On an average, they are conducting less than 2,000 tests a day, which is suggesting that there could be further decline in the infection rate in coming days,” said Dr Virender Yadav, chief medical officer. On Monday, 92 people were sent to institutional quarantine facilities. So far, 15,29,871 people have been put under surveillance. In the past 24 hours, the health authorities collected 4,503 samples for antigen and RT-PCR tests. Till now, 15,17,285 samples have been sent for testing, of which 13,32,836 turned out to be negative, while the results of 2,671 are awaited.
