Officials investigating suspicious fire in Port Huron

The Port Huron fire and police departments are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred early Monday morning.
At about 1 a.m., firefighters responded to a report of a house fire in the 1800 block of Water Street, Port Huron Fire Chief Corey Nicholson said.
The fire, which occurred at the front and back porches of the duplex, was out upon arrival. It had been extinguished by a passerby, Nicholson said.
He said the home sustained exterior damage to the front and back porches.
There were no injuries.
Nicholson said the Port Huron police and fire departments are investigating the incident as suspicious.
Tri-Hospital EMS also assisted at the scene.
