Actor Rohan Mehra, on Tuesday, reacted to his 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' co-star Karan Mehra's arrest and said that he's 'extremely shocked' as he has never heard the latter raise his voice.
"I am extremely shocked to read the news. But I won't like to comment on the matter at the moment as I feel it's their personal life and they only know what has gone wrong," he told SpotboyE.
Rohan said that he has known Karan Mehra for over 5 years and believes that the actor is a very good person. He added that Karan has always been very respectful on the sets and has never lost his temper or raised his voice on anybody.
Talking about their stint in Salman Khan's reality show, Rohan said that staying calm in the 'Bigg Boss' house isn't easy, but Karan Mehra had managed to maintain his calm even during the show.
Karan Mehra was arrested on Monday night for allegedly beating up his wife Nisha Rawl at their residence in Mumbai. He was taken into custody after the Nisha lodged a police complaint against him. The actor was released on bail from the police station in the early hours of Tuesday.
A case was registered against Mehra under IPC sections 336 (endangering human life or personal safety others), 337 (causing hurt by an act which endangers human life), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation), a police official said.
Karan Mehra and Nisha Rawal, who are popular TV actors, tied the knot in 2012 after meeting on the sets of 'Hastey Hastey'. They are parents to a baby boy, Kavish.
