Patiala, May 31

Unidentified men allegedly snatched a bag containing Rs 3.5 lakh in cash from a bank employee who was returning to his branch after collecting cash from shops here today.

The police have registered a case against unidentified suspects and are investigating the matter.

According to the police, Ashok Kumar, a bank employee, was on his way to the bank on the Sirhind road when a man allegedly snatched his bag with cash hanging from his shoulder. A case under Section 379-B of the IPC had been registered. This comes a day after bike-borne men snatched a gold chain from a woman out on an evening walk with toddler.

DSP City Saurabh Jindal said they were investigating the two incidents. — TNS
