Hamirpur (HP), May 31(UNI) There has been a remarkable improvement in Corona-related infrastructure in the country, all India BJP chief Jagat Prakash Nadda said on Monday.
'Earlier, our testing capacity was 1 A500 per day , the figure has now increased to 25 lakh per day.
Similarly, there was only one lab for Corona testing, whereas today there are 2 A500 Testing Labs in the country. The number of isolation beds in the country has increased to 1.4 million and the number of ICU beds have also increased to 81,000. India has become self-sufficient in terms of PPE kits, face masks, sanitizers, ventilators, etc.
All this has been possible due to the tireless hard work of the Modi government, he said while addressing people through video conferencing from Delhi after laying the foundation stones of Oxygen plants at Hamirpur and Ghumarwin in Bilaspur district today.
HP Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and the Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate affairs, Anurag Thakur, the man behind the plants was also present virtually on this occasion.
Nadda also flagged off vehicles carrying Corona related fighting kits to other parts of the state.
He said that the number of isolation beds in the country has increased to 1.4 million and the number of ICU beds have also increased to 81,000. India has become self-sufficient in terms of PPE kits, face masks, sanitizers, ventilators, etc. All this has been possible due to the tireless hard work of the Modi government.
Nadda said that in this calamity of the Covid transition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had fought a decisive battle with 130 crore countrymen and has taken the country forward.
“During the lockdown last year, the Prime Minister made arrangements to deliver free food grains to 80 crore people of the country from April to November. This time also, when the Corona infection increases, free grains are being delivered to the people for two months under the Poor Kalyan Anna Yojana. Under the Kisan Samman Nidhi, till date over Rs 1.36 lakh crore has been transferred to the account of the farmers of the country. Not only this, a monthly pension of Rs 3,000 has also been arranged for the farmers”, said Nadda.
Nadda said that due to the tireless efforts of the Prime Minister, keeping in mind the self-reliant India campaign, two India-made vaccines were prepared within 9 months, but many leaders of opposition parties in the country scolded the vaccine program and tried to break the vaccine movement.
He alleged that the Congress leaders conspired to discredit the vaccine and try to break the morale of the country. Congress and some other opposition parties raised questions on the entrepreneurs and scientists of India. Not only did he scare people on the vaccine, but he also tried to create suspicion by misleading the public about the vaccine.
He maintained that today the same people are making a vaccine. He said that we are people doing spiritual practice to serve the public whereas these people are obstructers. They may create obstacles in our path of service to the people, but we will not back away from the spiritual practice of public service.
The BJP national president said that due to the untiring efforts of Mr Modi, the production of medical oxygen in the country increased from 3000 metric ton to more than 9000 metric ton in a week and the scarcity of oxygen across the country was over.
“Similarly, today 13 companies are producing vaccines in the country, 6 more companies will start producing vaccines in a few days. Bharat Biotech's vaccine production capacity will also increase to 100 million doses per month by October. By the end of this year, we will complete the system of vaccination in the country. Our government is working day and night to eradicate black fungus as well”, he added.
The Chief Minister said that new categories of employees have been added to the priority groups for the purpose of Covid vaccination in the state. These categories include employees of Agriculture department including staff of HP State Agricultural Marketing Board, Horticulture department, Information and Public Relations Department, Excise and Taxation and Rural Development department.
He further informed that for vaccination these employees will have to produce a certificate duly signed and verified by the authorities who have been notified to certify the same. He said that Deputy Director, Subject Matter specialist or HoDs have been authorized to certify employees of Agriculture and Horticulture departments.
Thakur thanked the Prime Minister for announcing a special 'PM-CARES for Children' scheme for all those orphaned due to Covid-19, which will include a corpus of Rs10 lakh for each child till he or she attains the age of 18 years.
Chief Minister said that 20 kilolitres Oxygen Plant established at Indira Gandhi Medical College Shimla would ensure uninterrupted oxygen supply to Covid-19 patients as well as other patients. He said that this plant would enhance the oxygen capacity of the Medical College from 525 cylinders to over 1600 cylinders. He said that the emergency Lab in IGMC Shimla would be functional 24x7.
Speaking on occasion, Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate affairs, Anurag Thakur said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi was to be credited for controlling the dreaded virus. Had he (Modi) not taken strong and timely steps, the situation would have been much worse by now.
Mr Thakur said that those opposing the Prime Minister and the BJP were not aware of the fact that what facilities the Modi government had provided to the people all over India was not expected from anyone else. He said that with the anticipation of the third wave, the preparations had already been started thanks to the initiative of the Prime Minister.
He appealed to the people to beware of the virus and abide by the COVID-19 guidelines in totality. He said that time had come to save the children from the Virus as the third wave was likely to hit the children in a large number.
