Xiaomi is one of the front-runners in the battle of the fastest possible charging technology for smartphones. It reached the 100W fast charging mark in 2019 and just two years later, it has now doubled that figure. Xiaomi has now demonstrated 200W wired"HyperCharge" fast charging and 120W wireless charging technologies.

The demonstration video used a custom-made Mi 11 Pro smartphone unit with a 4,000mAh battery. Its new 200W HypeCharge wired fast charging technology was able to charge the phone completely within only 8 minutes. On another hand, the 120W wireless charging tech reached the fully charged mark in about 15 minutes.

The company is touting its newly registered charging durations as new charging records. You can check out the demonstration video below where you can see the wired charging hitting the 50% mark within just 3 minutes. The wireless charging tech reached the same milestone in about 7 minutes.

It goes without saying that these new HyperCharge wired and wireless charging technologies are currently in the concept stage. They are not meant for mainstream commercial purposes yet. There is also no surety if these will ever make their way to the hands of general consumers. But it is always good to see companies make technological improvements that will surely reduce the overall charging times in one way or another.
