Noida records 98 new Covid cases, Ghaziabad 91

Noida/Ghaziabad: Gautam Budh Nagar on Sunday recorded 98 new Covid cases and six deaths. With this, the toll has now touched 449 in the district. A total of 62,285 cases have been reported so far, and 1,184 are still active cases.
About 380 patients were discharged from hospitals and home isolation in the past 24 hours, taking the total discharged patients to 60,652. The recovery rate of GB Nagar stands at 95% while the case fatality rate is 0.8%.
Meanwhile, Ghaziabad recorded two deaths and 91 fresh Covid cases on Sunday. With this, the toll increased to 436 while the district’s tally of Covid cases stood at 55,007.
As many as 109 patients were discharged from hospitals and home isolation at the same time. Altogether, 52,811 patients have recovered and discharged in the district.
At present, there are 1,760 active cases. The recovery rate of Ghaziabad stands at 95.6% while the case fatality rate is 0.7%.
The daily Covid count in the state also dipped to 1,908 on Sunday, marking a 95% decline from its peak of 38,055 on April 24. Active cases too fell to 41,214, which is 86.76% less than the peak of 3,10,783 cases on April 30. The daily positivity rate also got reduced to 0.6%, which was much less than the overall positivity rate of 3.4% since the pandemic outbreak. The death rate, however, remained a cause of concern with 140 people succumbing to Covid in last 24 hours.
