India GDP Data LIVE Updates: The National Statistics Office (NSO) has released the provisional full-year gross domestic product (GDP) data for fiscal year 2020-21. The data released by the government shows that the GDP has contracted, for the first time since 1980-81. A contraction of 7.3 percent was reported in financial year 2020-21, the NSO data showed. In the fourth quarter of
FY21, the GDP has grown by 1.6 percent. The contraction in the economy, and the restricted growth in Q4, is largely factored by the lockdowns and restrictions imposed to curb the pace of COVID-19 transmission.
