If you have any sort of tax-related work that needs to be done using the income tax department's e-filing portal, then you need to complete the same by midnight tonight, i.e., May 31, 2021. This is because the e-filing portal will not be available between June 1, 2021, and June 6, 2021.
The income tax department is launching a new e-filing portal (www.incometax.gov.in) on June 7, 2021, and the existing portal, www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in, will not be available from June 1 to June 6. The portal will not be accessible during these dates for all stakeholders including taxpayers, banks, GSTN etc.
For instance, taxpayers would not be able to submit Form-15CA and 15CB during the intervening period of revamp of the e-filing portal, i.e., from midnight of May 31 till midnight of June 6, 2021. Those who intend to make any remittance during the blackout period from June 1-6, 2021 may kindly submit and download their forms by midnight of May 31, 2021, to avoid any inconvenience, the income tax department stated on its e-filing website.
