Telangana Formation Day is a muted affair

Hyderabad: For the second consecutive year, the celebration of the Telangana state formation on June 2 across the state will be a muted affair due to the second wave Covid-19 pandemic. According to the decision taken by the state cabinet on Sunday, the government has appointed dignitaries to unfold the national flag in all the districts and issue guidelines for organizing the celebrations in strict compliance with Covid-19 protocol.

Prime Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will hoist the national flag in Hyderabad during the state function held here on June 2 at 9 p.m. The nominated dignitaries, including ministers, government whips and others, will unfold the tricolor in their respective districts. According to the established norms, the main guests will pay tribute to the Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial in their respective places, followed by the hoisting of the national flag.

In light of the pandemic, a maximum of ten people were allowed for the celebrations, except to take precautions such as wearing masks, taking physical distance, sanitizing the venue and providing disinfectants to everyone. In addition, the police commissioners / superintendents of the police will arrange a contingent of 12 staff members for the National Salute and the Honorary Guard. Furthermore, the district collectors are discouraged during the event to arrange any other events such as speeches, prize giving or asset sharing.

According to orders issued on Monday, the high-ranking officials who will unveil the national flags in the districts on State Formation Day include Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy in Nalgonda, the chairman of the meeting, P Srinivas Reddy in Kamareddy, the Deputy Chairman of the Board, Nethi Vidyasagar in Narayanpet, Deputy Speaker of the meeting Speaker T Padma Rao in Vikarabad, Minister of IT and Industry, KT Rama Rao in Rajanna Sircilla, and Minister of Finance, T Harish Rao, in Siddipet. The national flag will be hoisted by the Minister of Transport, P Ajay Kumar, in Khammam, the Minister of Welfare, Gangula Kamalakar, in Karimnagar, the Minister of Development, SC, Koppula Eeshwar, in Jagitial, the Minister of Excise, V Srinivas Gold, in Mahabubnagar, Tribal Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod in Mahabubabad, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav in Medak and Labor Minister Ch Malla Reddy in Medchal Malkajgiri.
Similarly, the national flag will be unveiled by Minister of Forestry A Indrakaran Reddy in Nirmal, Minister of Roads and Buildings Vemula Prashanth Reddy in Nizamabad, P Sabitha Indra Reddy in Rangareddy, Minister of Home Affairs Mohd Mahmood Ali in Sangareddy, Minister of energy G Jagadish Reddy in Suryapet, Minister of Agriculture S Niranjan Reddy in Wanaparthy and Vice-Chairman B Vinod Kumar, Vice-Chairman of the Telangana State Council, in Warangal Rural.

Other dignitaries who will hoist the tricolor are: Chief Whip of the Government Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, Government Whip Gampa Govardhan in Adilabad, Government Whip Rega Kantha Rao in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Government Whip T Bhanu Prasad Rao in Jayashankar Bhoupir Bhupalpong, Council Bodakunti Venkateshwarlu in Jangaon, Government Whip Guvvala Balaraju in Jogulamba Gadwal, Government Whip Arekapudi Gandhi in Kumurambheem Asifabad, Government Whip MS Prabhakar Rao in Mulugu, Government Whip K Damodar Reddy in Nagark Anurag Sharma in Mancherial.
