LED packaging service provider Everlight Electronics is optimistic about its business prospects for the second half of 2021, bolstered by clear order visibility and increasing production capacity.
While the company's capacity is 85-90% loaded, its production lines for infrared (IR) LED photocouplers are running at full capacity, even though prices for such products have been raised recently, said the company.
The IR LED products currently account for 35% of its total sales. The ratio will expand significantly in the second half of 2021, as more production lines for photocouplers will come online in the latter half of the year.
The company plans to spend NT$900 million (US$32.4 million) on capacity ramps in 2021, aiming to boost its total production of LED chips to 7.1 billion units in the year, an increase of 300 million from a year earlier.
In addition to increasing sales of IR LED photocouplers, the company will also see its LED shipments for automotive applications double to 10% as a proportion of overall company sales in 2021, and its shipments of miniLED backlit products is also expected to a 10% proportion.
It has reported revenues of NT$2.067 billion for April, up 6.78% on year, and January-April revenues of NT$7.95 billion increased 23.25% from a year earlier.
Revenues for May and June are expected to reach the same level seen in April, the company estimated.
