No injuries after two structure fires in Kenockee Twp. Sunday

The Kenockee Township Fire Department responded to two structure fires Sunday.

There were no injuries after Kenockee Township Fire Department responded to two structure fires Sunday. 

Shortly after 8 p.m., the Kenockee Township Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire in the 9800 block of Bryce Road, Assistant Fire Chief Jimmy Vincent said. 

Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke and flames showing in the attic. 

There was water damage throughout the home, while the attic and portions of the roof were destroyed by fire, Vincent said. 

He said the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, firefighters also responded to the 5200 block of Kilgore Road for a report of a pole barn fire. 

A lawnmower had caught fire and spread into the rafters, he said. Firefighters extinguished the fire before any significant damage occurred. 

Vincent said occupants were out of the structures upon arrival for both fires. There were no injuries. 

Emmett and Clyde township fire departments also responded to both fires.
