    Is lactose "bad" sugar ?

Hello, i have a question. Im student, so im eating on a budget. To hit my daily protein intake, i eat a lot of dairy (mainly milk, protein powder, yoghurts etc.). Thing is that every of those products have low fat, but it has plenty of sugar. Of course i eat oats, rice etc. but i feel like around 50-70g of my carbs are from lactose. I have no problem with lactose, i can drink a liter of milk no problem, but my question is, if it okay from muscle building point of view to have like 70grams of milk sugar from around 250 g of carbs ? Is it still used as energy for workout, or is it better to regulate it and eat more oats for example ? Ty

If you're allergic or intolerant, yes.

If you tolerate it fine, no issues.

    oats wont build any muscle

    milk will

if you can tolerate it well then you're a lucky one, have as much as your heart desires

milk contains all the essential amino acids

the biggest drawback is the type of milk sold commercially. you want the a2 beta casein not the a1 (which is typically associated with ill health). The Holsein cows in the US are treated with bovine somatotropin (bst). Unless you find milk that specifically states it's from grass fed cows you are likely getting the a1.

This is a very odd comparison and statement to make.

No food in itself will build muscle... training stimulus + calories + protein + water will.

Oats are not as 'complete' as dairy proteins, but they are certainly a very healthy and beneficial food to consume.

We don't need to only consume one or the other.
