Many trees were uprooted following a heavy rain coupled with strong wind in the city on Sunday

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A spell of heavy rain with gusty winds lashed the state capital for the second consecutive day on Sunday, leading to waterlogging in many areas of Kolar, which is a satellite township of Bhopal. Many trees were uprooted and several areas witnessed prolonged power cuts in the city. The Kolar area was the worst-affected as many colonies were innudated in rainy water.

Local MLA Rameshwar Sharma had visited many areas to take stock of the road conditions ahead of the rainy season. But today, many areas were inudated.

All approach roads to Ankit Colony were heavily waterlogged and commuters had to wade through knee-deep water on the roads. Even bikers had to drive through waterlogged streets. Similarly, Lalita Nagar met same fate.

Trees were uprooted down near the Jyoti Talkies multi-level parking, Shahpura and behind the Kolar police station.

The rain activities have been attributed to moisture consistently feeding the system due to the monsoon which has entered Kerala and a cyclonic circulation lies over Punjab and is neighbourhood. A trough from the cyclonic circulation over Punjab is extending up to north-east Rajasthan.

A cyclonic circulation also lies over east Uttar Pradesh and a trough from this cyclonic circulation is extending across east Madhya Pradesh. A cyclonic circulation is also seen over the lower levels of south-east Madhya Pradesh.
