Police discuss newlywed couple for breach of closure in Telangana

Hyderabad: Police on Friday arrested a newly married couple and their eight family members for violating the lock-up norms in Siddipet district, Telangana.

According to a report published in the Times of India, they violated the closing norms by arranging a reception without permission. The family got permission for the wedding with a hood on the number of guests, but there was no permission for the reception.

On Friday night, when the guests started arriving, the police reached the place and booked the couple and eight members of their family. Police have also registered a case against the owner of the tent house.

In another similar case, police on Friday stopped a bus carrying 55 wedding guests in Vikarabad district, Telangana. The bus was taken to the police station and a case was registered against the bride’s father because he rented it.

According to police, weddings, receptions and similar events can turn into a super-distributor if people forget to stick to it COVID-19 norms in such functions.

Earlier, a wedding ceremony in the Khammam district turned into a super-distributor, for which 100 guests tested positive COVID-19 and four persons died of the disease. The victims of the disease include the father of the groom.

At the wedding, more than 250 guests attended. Later, when the tests were taken, 100 people were found who attended the event COVID-19 positive.

According to a government bulletin issued on Saturday, Telangana has 2,982 new cases of COVID-19 in 24 hours. The state also scored 21 COVID-related new deaths.
