NEW DELHI: On the occasion of NDA government's seventh anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that nation has followed the mantra of "Sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas" over the last seven years.
"There have been many moments of national pride, Modi said in his monthly 'Mann ki Baat' radio address.
India now moves ahead not under the pressure of other countries but with its own convictions, he asserted, saying it makes everyone proud.
Apart from many successes, there were some stern tests as well, he said, referring to the Covid-19 pandemic. The nation fought its first wave with courage, and the second wave too will be defeated, he asserted.
PM Modi highlighted the government's initiatives on national security. Without naming China, he said that befitting reply has been given to those who conspired against the country.
“When we witness that now India gives a befitting reply to those who conspire against us, then our confidence soars. When India does not compromise on the issues of national security, when the strength of our armed forces increases, we feel that yes, we are on the right path,” Modi said.
Many old disputes have also been resolved with complete peace and harmony, and a new confidence underpinned by peace and development has arisen from the northeast to Kashmir, he said.
PM also mentioned the cyclonic storms that struck the nation in the recent years and lauded the efforts of various agencies in relief and rescue operations.
He also spoke of Centre-state cooperation in combating such challenges.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the government's achievements in the fields of rural electrification, piped water supply, extending banking facilities through 'Jan Dhan accounts' and connectivity.
Modi said, “I remember some friends from a tribal area had sent me a message that after the road was built, for the first time they felt that they too had joined the rest of the world. Similarly, someone shares the joy of opening a bank account, someone starts a new employment with the help of different schemes, then they also invite me in sharing that happiness.”
Several BJP leaders hailed the Prime Minister's leadership over the years on the occasion of NDA completing seven years at the Centre.
BJP chief JP Nadda said the party will celebrate the occasion as 'Sewa Divas.'

Home minister Amit Shah said the country has reposed faith in PM Modi's leadership, and ensured that India's development continues on a fast track.

Health minister Harsh Vardhan applauded PM Modi for what his 'iron will to reform, perform & transform.’
